Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
123 AM CDT Wed Oct 8 2025

.DISCUSSION...

While overall fire weather conditions remain minimal, continued
dry conditions will maintain the potential for IA. This is
especially true where drier fuels exist east of the Pecos River.
Easterly winds will become gusty today across the higher terrain,
but higher moisture values behind a cold front will help mitigate
any fire weather concerns. Winds will decrease through the rest
of the week as high pressure builds back over the region. Expect
dry conditions before low chances for precipitation return to the
area early next week.
