Fire Weather Planning Forecast for West Texas/Southeast New Mexico
National Weather Service Midland/Odessa TX
129 AM CDT Sun Jul 13 2025

.DISCUSSION...

Fire weather concerns remain low for the next several days. The
forecast continues to show wetting rain chances for areas west of
the Pecos River Valley with somewhat lower chances for the Permian
Basin and Stockton Plateau. However, even without continued,
significant rainfall, ERCs remain below the 50th percentile, fuel
moisture remains above normal, and winds outside of any convection
will remain light. Recoveries will also be good to excellent each
night.
