The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East Central Ector County in western Texas...
  Northwestern Midland County in western Texas...

* Until 115 AM CDT.

* At 1014 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has
  fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 0.75 inches in 30
  minutes. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in
  the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
           producing flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Midland, Odessa, Midland International Air and Space Port, West
  Odessa, Warfield, Midland Airpark and Odessa Schlemeyer Field.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
