.UPDATE...
Issued at 635 AM CST Sun Nov 2 2025

Clear skies, light winds, and a very shallow saturated airmass
near the surface has resulted in the development of patchy dense
fog in Reagan and Glasscock counties near the communities of Big
Lake and Garden City as seen on satellite imagery and surface
observations. We added patchy fog mention to the forecast over
these counties through around 8 AM CST. Fog should quickly
disperse thereafter.

.SHORT TERM...
(Today through Monday afternoon)
Issued at 110 AM CST Sun Nov 2 2025

A dry northerly to northwesterly flow aloft remains prevalent
over west Texas and southeast New Mexico early this morning
between a deep upper-level trough that is digging across the
Mississippi and Tennessee Valleys and an upper-level ridge
building over the Desert Southwest. Surface high pressure
meanwhile continues to settle over the central and southern Plains
early this morning. Skies subsequently remain clear with light
and variable winds across our region.

The upper-level ridge will build eastward across southeast New
Mexico and west Texas today and tonight. The surface ridge of high
pressure will shift eastward toward the Lower Mississippi Valley
this afternoon while surface lee troughing begins to take shape
over eastern Colorado and New Mexico. Skies will be sunny today
with winds turning southerly to southwesterly. High temperatures
will trend warmer in the 70s to near 80 degrees over most of the
area today, except for readings in the upper 60s over our
mountain areas and up to 80 to 85 degrees along the Rio Grande.
Clear skies continue tonight with lows ranging in the 40s to
around 50 degrees.

The upper-level ridge will remain oriented over much of the state
of Texas on Monday. Sunny, warm, and dry conditions will prevail
through Monday afternoon. High temperatures will trend several
degrees warmer with readings ranging in the mid 70s to mid 80s
over the majority of our area.

.LONG TERM...
(Monday night through Saturday)
Issued at 110 AM CST Sun Nov 2 2025

No significant changes were made to the extended portion of the
forecast. Upper-level ridging will continue to stretch across
central and southern portions of Texas on Tuesday before breaking
down Wednesday into Thursday as zonal flow aloft increases over
much of the central/southern U.S. Dry westerly to northwesterly
flow aloft looks to persist over our region Friday into Saturday.
Rain chances will remain zero through the extended period given
the overall dry pattern. Temperatures will remain well above
normal through the week. Highs will range in the 80s over most
locations Tuesday-Thursday as low level thermal ridging becomes
enhanced along a surface trough that will stretch over much of our
area. A shortwave trough passing across the central Plains may
send a weak cold front into our area by Friday. Temperatures may
be a few degrees cooler over much of our region behind this
boundary on Friday, but still look to average several degrees
above normal in the mid 70s to mid 80s. Highs may trend a few
degrees warmer by Saturday. Low temperatures will also average a
few degrees above normal for early November with readings generally
forecast to range in the mid 40s to lower 50s over most locations
through the week.
