920 FXUS64 KLZK 030530 AFDLZK Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Little Rock AR 1230 AM CDT Sun Aug 3 2025 ...New AVIATION... .DISCUSSION... Issued at 1206 AM CDT Sun Aug 3 2025 Below normal conditions and drier air continue to settle across the state early this Sun morning as high pressure to the NE keeps NERLY SFC flow in place. Lows this morning will dip into the 50s and 60s...coolest conditions seen in a while. Some areas may even see mid 50s lows by around sunrise this morning...most likely in the sheltered valley regions of the Ozarks of NRN AR. The cooler/drier conditions will persist for Sun afternoon...with highs in the mid 70s to upper 80s. Dewpts will remain in the 50s and 60s for most areas. Expect mainly near or below normal highs to persist into early to middle of the week as the ridge of high pressure remains west of the region...and AR under an upper level weak trough. This trough may trigger some precip Mon into Wed during the afternoon hrs each day...but confidence and coverage should be at a minimum. However...looks like Tue may have the best potential for seeing afternoon convection...but chances will still remain fairly low. Temps will gradually warm back to around or even just above normal by late next week as the upper ridge to the west attempts to expand back into the region. However...the bulk of the upper ridge looks to remain west of AR even by late week...keeping the persistent oppressive heat at bay for a now. Even so...some areas may again approach Heat Adv criteria by the latter half of the week...but should be more spotty in nature this round. && .AVIATION... (06Z TAFS) Issued at 1229 AM CDT Sun Aug 3 2025 Surface high pressure to the north of the region will keep widespread VFR conditions in place. Moisture is limited and only occasional high level clouds are expected through the period. The position of the high will keep a light NE flow of air over the terminals, averaging 10 knots are less. && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
