Overall, drier and calmer conditions are expected to prevail
under upper level ridging. With that said, summertime convection
will continue to be possible during the afternoon hours across the
portions of the state due to day time heating. Showers and
thunderstorms are not likely to be widespread and severe weather
is not expected. By the late this weekend, a shortwave is
expected to move into the state in addition to a pattern change
bringing an increase in rain chances for most of the state going
into early next week.

Additionally, temperatures will begin to be on the rise again as
we head into the weekend. Currently highs will be in the 80s and
lower 90s across much of the state with feels like slight higher
around the mid to upper 90s. The hot weather returns by the
weekend with the next weather system. Heat advisories will become
possible Sunday and into early next week across portions of
eastern and southern Arkansas where criteria could be met.

Widespread VFR conditions are expected through the morning hours
Saturday as high pressure controls the weather pattern. Some
scattered pop up showers will once again be possible during the
afternoon hours although coverage is expected to be minimal.
