...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM EST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12
  inches, with locally 1 to 2 feet along the ridgetops. Winds
  gusting as high as 45 mph this afternoon into tonight.

* WHERE...Garrett County.

* WHEN...Until 3 AM EST Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Visibilities may drop below 1/4
  mile due to falling and blowing snow. Whiteout conditions are
  expected and will make travel treacherous and potentially
  life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult to impossible.
  The hazardous conditions could impact the commutes through this
  evening.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Near blizzard conditions are possible today.
  Snow may transition to a period of freezing rain or drizzle late
  tonight into Saturday morning.

  Western Grant and Western Pendleton Counties.

* WHERE...In Maryland, Extreme Western Allegany County. In West
  Virginia, Western Mineral County.

* WHEN...From 6 AM this morning to 6 PM EST this evening.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
  likely become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road
  conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the commutes
  through this evening.
