Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC
159 AM EDT Sun Aug 17 2025

Here is a look at the weather features that will affect the region
over the next several days.

Weak high pressure will gradually erode and advance offshore
today. Meanwhile, a cold front will approach from the Great Lakes
and Ohio Valley before crossing through the region this evening
into tonight. This frontal system slowly drifts southward through
the middle of the week. This system will bring increased shower
and thunderstorm chances along with cooler temperatures to the
region. The front eventually pushes south and east of the Mid-
Atlantic region on Thursday as Canadian high pressure returns
from the north late week into next weekend.
