Regional Weather Summary
National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC
206 AM EDT Wed Aug 20 2025

Here is a look at the weather features that will affect the region
over the next several days.

A frontal system will remain stalled to the south of the area
this morning before pivoting northward through the day. Cloudy,
cool, and drizzly conditions will give way to possible showers and
thunderstorms this afternoon. By Thursday, this system pulls away
to the southeast as a cold front as Hurricane Erin passes well
offshore to the east. Weak high pressure returns over the region
Friday before a cold front slowly approaches from the west over
the weekend. This system increases shower and thunderstorm chances
before exiting the region by early Monday. Thereafter, a strong
area of high pressure moves in from the Midwest.
