...OCCASIONAL NORTHEASTERLY GUSTS TO 20 KNOTS...

Multiple observations across the upper to middle tidal Potomac
River has indicated gusts pushing into the 16 to 18 knot range.
Given the northeasterly surge behind the slow moving cold front,
this may persist another 2 to 3 hours.

Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller
vessels, should exercise extra caution if navigating the waters
during this time.

Will continue to monitor the situation, including whether to start
Small Craft Advisories earlier.
