Heavy rainfall could result in scattered instances of flash flooding. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect for the Fredericksburg area into southern Maryland until 10 PM. Elsewhere, a few severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts are possible this afternoon to evening.
