.DISCUSSION...

A cold front will drop south into the region from PA late this morning
and stall over northern Maryland. This front will be the focus for
continued shower development, but most showers should remain north of
the district. Isolated showers will be possible in DC through early this
afternoon. Thunderstorms will be possible later this afternoon and into
this evening with some storms having the potential to produce strong,
gusty winds. Damaging wind gusts can`t be ruled out if clearing in cloud
cover allows increased instability as a weak boundary passes through this
afternoon and into this evening. Afternoon temperatures should peak in
the upper 70s to lower 80s with wind gusts between 25 and 35 mph possible.
