.DISCUSSION...

Winds will remain light through this evening as high pressure
passes, although the prevailing direction will shift from
westerly to southwesterly. Wind gusts will start increasing the
second half of the night, although this may be more prevalent
on ridges compared to the valley floor. While relative humidities
may recover into the 60s in the valleys tonight, they may remain
in the 40s on the ridges.

A cold front will approach the region Friday before moving through
Friday night into Saturday. Latest model guidance does show an
uptick in the RH values compared to the past few days, but still
dropping into the 40s to near 50 percent. Additionally, winds Friday
will be sustained around 15-20 mph at times , with gusts up to 35
mph out of the south. While fire behavior may be helped by
cloudcover and temperatures in the 50s, existing uncontrolled fire
could face some challenges.

The aforementioned cold front pushes through Friday night, but
it likely to only yield less than a tenth an inch of rain. Winds will
shift to the west behind this front, with some occasional gusts up
to 20 mph possibly lingering into Saturday.
