Rain, possibly heavy at times, will continue this morning. Although Tuesday is expected to be dry and windy, this recent rain should quell the threat for rapid fire spread for at least the next few days. A rumble of thunder can`t be ruled out around midday today (Monday). Tuesday night through Wednesday night will have well below normal temperatures, with a widespread hard freeze expected late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning. Otherwise, multiple waves of low pressure will ride along a front stalled across southeastern Virginia through tonight. Widespread rain showers will gradually retreat to the southeast through this evening. Rainfall amounts will range from 1.00 to 1.50 inches. A second reinforcing cold front will pass through the area late tonight, leading to chilly and windy conditions along with low relative humidity Tuesday. High pressure will settle across the area by Wednesday. Below normal temperatures will continue as the next low pressure system approaches from the west Thursday into Friday. Additional rain is likely during this time. .TUESDAY NIGHT... Sky/weather.........Clear (0-10 percent). CWR.................0 percent. Chance of thunder...0 percent. Min temperature.....Around 26.
