Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR W and CTL MD...E WV...N VA...DC
National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC
231 PM EDT Fri Aug 21 2026

.DISCUSSION...

A frontal system is expected to stall near or just southeast of the
Mid-Atlantic today with additional ripples of low pressure riding
along it resulting in periodic showers and a few thunderstorms at
times through the upcoming weekend. High pressure tracks in from the
Tennessee and Ohio Valleys early next week which leads to a cool
down with less humidity.
