The National Weather Service in Sterling Virginia has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southwestern Frederick County in northwestern Virginia...
  Northeastern Shenandoah County in northwestern Virginia...
  Warren County in northwestern Virginia...

* Until 200 AM EDT.

* At 1059 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain
  have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1 inch in 1
  hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in
  the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

to seek higher ground quickly if near creeks and streams.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
