...COASTAL FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING
THROUGH FRIDAY AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Up to two feet of inundation above ground level
  possible in low lying areas due to as combination tidal and
  fresh water flooding.

* WHERE...Shoreline in the District of Columbia.

* WHEN...From Thursday morning through Friday afternoon,
  especially around the time of high tide.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of Washington Harbor is possible, if flood
  gatees are not in place, should water levels reach the
  forecast values. Additionally, more than a third of Rosevelt
  Island is covered in water, and backwater flooding of Rock
  Creek in Georgetown begins to occur.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides between one half foot and one foot
  above normal. The next high tide cycle with expected flooding
  impacts at Washington Channel is at 10:24 AM on Thursday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be
closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of
unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone
property.
