Additionally, more than a third of Rosevelt Island is covered in water, and backwater flooding of Rock Creek in Georgetown begins to occur. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides between one half foot and one foot above normal. The next high tide cycle with expected flooding impacts at Washington Channel is at 10:24 AM on Thursday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth.
