096 WHUS41 KLWX 170314 CFWLWX Coastal Hazard Message National Weather Service Baltimore MD/Washington DC 1114 PM EDT Fri May 16 2025 DCZ001-170600- /O.NEW.KLWX.CF.Y.0008.250517T0314Z-250517T0600Z/ District of Columbia- 1114 PM EDT Fri May 16 2025 ...COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 2 AM EDT SATURDAY... * WHAT...Up to one foot of inundation above ground level in low lying areas due to tidal flooding. * WHERE...Shoreline in the District of Columbia, especially in the vicinity of Georgetown. * WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Saturday, especially around the time of high tide. * IMPACTS...Low lying areas near Fletcher`s Boathouse begin to flood. Water also begins to overflow the banks near the mouth of Rock Creek. Portions of the Swamp Trail on Roosevelt Island are flooded. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides one to one and a half feet above normal. The next high tide at Washington Channel is at 11:48 PM and 11:42 AM. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property. && $$
