MARCH 2025 FINISHED WITH ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES AND NEAR NORMAL
PRECIPITATION FOR SOUTHEAST WASHINGTON INTO THE SOUTH IDAHO
PANHANDLE. THE FIRST 11 DAYS OF THE MONTH STARTED OFF ON A DRY NOTE
WITH MILD TEMPERATURES. THE PATTERN CHANGES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE
MONTH WITH AN ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN. FROM THE 12TH THROUGH THE
22ND SEVERAL ROUNDS OF VALLEY RAIN, MOUNTAIN SNOW, AND BREEZY WINDS
TRACKED THROUGH THE REGION. THEN A RAPID WARMUP OCCURRED THROUGH
THE 26TH, WHEN SEVERAL RECORDS WERE BROKE. NOT ONLY WERE DAILY
RECORDS BROKE, BUT MONTHLY RECORDS AS WELL. LEWISTON RECORDED ITS
WARMEST LOW AND HIGH TEMPERATURE FOR THE MONTH OF MARCH ON RECORD.
THIS INCLUDES A LOW TEMPERATURE OF 55 DEGREES ON THE 24TH, SOMETHING
MORE COMMON OF LATE JUNE. IN ADDITION THE HIGH TEMPERATURE OF 80F ON
THE 26TH TIED THE MONTHLY RECORD. OTHER TOWNS THAT BROKE A MONTHLY
HIGH TEMPERATURE RECORD INCLUDE LIND WITH 76 DEGREES, AND PULLMAN 75
DEGREES. FOLLOWING THE RECORD HEAT, A BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS TRACKED
THROUGH THE REGION LATE ON THE 26TH THROUGH THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
OF THE 27TH. THUNDERSTORMS WITH ABUNDANT LIGHTNING TRACKED FROM
PULLMAN NORTHEAST INTO SAINT MARIES, WITH ISOLATED STORMS ALSO
AROUND DEARY, CLARKIA, AND AVERY.

IN ADDITION TO THE MONTHLY RECORDS LISTED ABOVE, OTHER DAILY RECORDS
OCCURRED. RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES OF 79F AND 80F WERE SET ON THE
25TH AND 26TH RESPECTIVELY.
