AND HIGH FIRE DANGER FOR THE SOUTH PLAINS, SOUTHWEST TEXAS
PANHANDLE AND MUCH OF THE ROLLING PLAINS...

The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a Red Flag
Warning, which is in effect from noon today to 7 PM CDT this
evening.

* Timing...This afternoon and again Wednesday afternoon and
  evening.

* Wind...West at 15 to 20 mph this afternoon. Westerly at 20 to
  30 mph Wednesday.

* Humidity...Falling to between 5 and 10 percent this afternoon
  and to 10 to 15 percent Wednesday.

* Fuels...Critically dry

* Impacts...Any fires that develop can spread rapidly. Outdoor
  burning is discouraged.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
