Scattered showers and thunderstorms are ongoing across the south
plains and far southern TX panhandle as of 9pm CDT. Wind gusts up
to 40 mph, and locally heavy downpours with rainfall rates
reaching one quarter inch per hour are possible with these cells.
Training cells could lead to excessive ponding on roads. These
thunderstorms will begin to gradually diminish overnight.
