.DISCUSSION...
Strong-to-high winds are expected to occur throughout the afternoon
and into the early evening. Sustained, southwesterly winds between
30-35 mph and gusts up to 50 mph are expected, with relative humidity
values falling to 13 percent. Expect visibility reductions from blowing
dust, perhaps as low as 1 mile. Southwesterly winds will be very breezy
heading into tonight, falling to 20-30 mph, with gusts to 40 mph, after
dark. A wind shift to the west-northwest will occur near 3-4 AM CDT, as a
strong cold front moves in from the west. The elevated wind speeds
throughout the night will result in poor RH recovery, with maximum RH
values near 32 percent. Post-frontal winds will back westward by sunrise,
with speeds diminishing to 15-20 mph. Forecast confidence is HIGH.
