THIS EVENING...

.DISCUSSION...
A warm start to the day is already ongoing with temperatures in
the low 80s under mostly clear skies and light southeasterly winds
around 5 to 10 mph. Temperatures will quickly climb through the
morning, becoming hot with temperatures in the lower triple digits
by the early afternoon. A Heat Advisory is in effect from 1 PM CDT
until 9 PM CDT Thursday. Southeast winds will continue through much
of the day, becoming slightly breezy with 20 foot wind speeds around
10 to 15 mph. Despite the hot temperatures and slight uptick in winds
through the afternoon, minimum RH values will remain in the mid 20s to
around 30 percent thanks to increased low-level moisture in place.
Although confidence is low in regards to timing and coverage, there is
a slight chance for an isolated shower/thunderstorm to develop in
the vicinity of the burn site. If a storm is able to develop, localized
gusty and erratic winds cannot be ruled out, especially with stronger
storm cores. Chances for precipitation will decrease by the late evening,
with a mostly quiet night in store with lows in the upper 70s to lower
80s while light southeasterly winds prevail with recoveries around the
60th percentile expected.
