.DISCUSSION...
A stalled front will remain parked across the northern South and
Rolling Plains through tomorrow, resulting in a well-defined wind
shift through this evening. Scattered storms, some severe, are
forecast to develop along and east of the I-27 corridor around 3 PM
CDT this afternoon, with coverage increasing as storms move into the
Rolling Plains. Cloud-to-ground lightning in rain free areas may
occur, in addition to severe-caliber wind gusts up to 70 mph, which
will result in sudden and erratic changes in direction. Winds will
shift to the east tonight and become breezy, with RH recovery near
100 percent. Hot temperatures are expected tomorrow, with the
dryline lingering near the New Mexico state line, resulting in
minimum RH values near 25 percent to the west of HWY-385 and above
30 percent east of I-27. Winds will become south-southwesterly
tomorrow, with speeds near 15-25 mph, but high RH and green
vegetation precludes fire weather concerns.
