.DISCUSSION...
Temperatures will continue to warm, becoming hot by the afternoon
Monday and Tuesday, with highs in the upper 90s to lower triple
digits. Winds will become slightly breezy out of the southwest
through the afternoon time period, around 10-15 mph, before shifting
out of the southeast through the late evening. Compared to Sunday,
moisture has began to increase across the region, with minimum RH
values expected to remain above 20 percent both Monday and Tuesday.
As a result, overall fire weather concerns are expected to remain
low. Although isolated spots of elevated fire concerns cannot be
ruled out across the far southeastern Texas Panhandle where ERCs are
in the 90th percentile along with where we expect the hottest
temperatures and strongest wind speeds to occur.
