.DISCUSSION...
A mostly quiet night is in store for the Caprock regions with light
easterly winds expect to prevail with overnight recoveries around 80
percent. There remains a slight chance for isolated to scattered
thunderstorms across the Caprock during the early morning hours
Friday, although confidence in this remains low. If storms develop
in the area, localized spots of gusty and erratic winds cannot be
ruled out. Otherwise, dry and hot conditions are expected to return
Friday afternoon with highs back in the 90s and lower triple digits
as minimum RH values drop to around 25 percent. Winds will remain
light, veering out of the southeast throughout the afternoon.
Despite the warm afternoon temperatures, minimum RH values above the
20th percentile combined with light easterly winds will help
mitigate the fire weather threat.
