.DISCUSSION...
Fire weather concerns are expected to remain low thanks to recent
rainfall and green-up noted across the region. Temperatures will
continue to climb a few degrees through the afternoon today, with
highs in the 80s and 90s across much of the region, under light
southeasterly winds. Despite the warm conditions, dewpoint
temperatures will remain in the 60s and 70s, promoting muggy and
humid conditions. There remains a slight chance for showers and
thunderstorms across the far southwestern Texas Panhandle and
northern South Plains this evening, which could lead to
localized gusty and erratic wind gusts and lightning strikes.
