The National Weather Service in Lubbock has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Northwestern Briscoe County in the panhandle of Texas...
  Northeastern Swisher County in the panhandle of Texas...

* Until 1145 PM CDT.

* At 939 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
  slow-moving thunderstorms producing very heavy rain across the
  warned area. A mesonet site near Vigo Park measured 0.40 inches of
  rain in only 5 minutes. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. The
  expected rainfall rate is 3 to 5 inches in 1 hour. Additional
  rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in the warned area.
  Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Vigo Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
