Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL
National Weather Service Saint Louis MO
229 PM CDT Sat Oct 19 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Dry air remains in place across the region through Monday with
surface high pressure blocking access to Gulf of Mexico moisture.
Winds remain light enough to prevent significant fire weather
concerns. A weakening trough moving by will bring some light rain
chances late Monday night into Tuesday, along with an uptick in
humidity, but total rainfall amounts are not expected to be
significant enough to impact the long term dryness. A dry cold
front on Wednesday brings a shift to northerly winds and at least
briefly cooler weather.
