Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL
National Weather Service Saint Louis MO
411 AM CDT Wed Mar 12 2025

.DISCUSSION...

A stationary front has settling along the I-70 corridor in Missouri and
the I-64 corridor in Illinois. To the north of the front weak east to
northeasterly winds will prevail today resulting in cooler temperatures
similar to yesterday. South of the front southwesterly winds will
prevail, causing high temperatures to peak in the upper 70s to low 80s.
RH values will be lowest across southeast and central Missouri, south of
the stationary front and within the southwest flow. RH values will drop
into the 20s during the afternoon, but light winds less than 10 kts will
keep the region free from elevated fire danger.

The stationary front will be weak but still present Thursday morning,
but by Thursday afternoon the front will wash out and winds will be from
the south to southeast across the area. Moisture will begin to return to
the area and RH values will reach their minimum in the 30s across much
of the area.

Friday will be warm and windy with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s and
winds sustained in the 20s and gusting into the upper 30s to low 40s. This
will occur ahead of showers and thunderstorms expected to move through the
area Friday afternoon and evening.
