Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL

Warm and dry conditions persist through the next several days
with light surface winds and highs well into the 80s. Though
light surface flow turns out of the northeast Tuesday afternoon
with easterly flow continuing into Thursday. Minimum relative
humidity is projected to dip near or just below 30% from
northeast Missouri into west-central Illinois this afternoon and
Wednesday afternoon. Sub-30 readings could expand further with
recent dry conditions and deep, diurnal mixing. Mixing height
generally peak around 7,000 feet for most locations each
afternoon with few sections of southwest Illinois near
5,000 feet. Good ventilation rates continue through the next few
days.
