354 FNUS53 KLSX 130324 FWFLSX Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL National Weather Service Saint Louis MO 1024 PM CDT Sun Oct 12 2025 Warm and dry conditions will continue through the week, with the only chance for rain worth noting arriving late Friday at the earliest. Winds will be fairly light and generally easterly to start this next work week, but gradually shift out of the south as temperatures warm. Minimum RH values will remain elevated through Tuesday before gradually dropping mid-week through Friday. Warming air aloft will keep mixing height unusually low for mid-October, which will act with weak transport winds to make smoke dispersion generally poor. Winds will begin to strenghten along with the lowering RH trends Thursday into Friday, but no erratic fire behavior appears likely at this point. The best chance for widespread rain arrives late Friday into Saturday along a cold front, but how much rain is still quite uncertain.
