850 FNUS53 KLSX 012117 FWFLSX Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL National Weather Service Saint Louis MO 416 PM CDT Mon Sep 1 2025 Dry conditions are favored over rain chances, which are low (15-20%) and confined to central and southeast Missouri this afternoon into Tuesday. Light and variable surface flow accompanies seasonably cool temperatures that will warm to near normal Wednesday as winds turn southerly. A strong cold front sends temperatures tumbling Wednesday night into Thursday with a return to northerly flow. Wednesday`s front will bring the best chance of rain (60-70% that we`ve seen in some time with a return to well below normal temperatures. Minumum RH values will generally range from 40-50% through Thursday +/-5% by location. Mixing height of 5,000-6,000 feet will increase to 7,000- 8,000 feet ahead of Wednesday`s cold front.
