Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern/Central MO and Southwest IL

The persistent hot and humid conditions continue through Monday
throughout the region with heat favored again Tuesday for east-
central and southeast Missouri into southwest Illinois. Isolated
to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible
each afternoon into the early evening. While thunderstorms will
not be widespread enough to bring broad relief to the heat,
locations impacted by thunderstorms will experience a temporary
cooling effect from rainfall. Additionally, these locations will
become more humid with localized saturation at the surface. Aside
from the localized impacts from thunderstorms, predominant
surface flow will remain out of the south and southwest through
Tuesday. A cold front will pass through from north to south,
bringing better chances for showers and thunderstorms through the
region, followed by cooler temperatures from mid to late week.
