The National Weather Service in St Louis has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Calhoun County in southwestern Illinois...
  Southwestern Greene County in southwestern Illinois...
  Southwestern Jersey County in southwestern Illinois...
  Northeastern Lincoln County in east central Missouri...
  Southeastern Pike County in northeastern Missouri...

* Until 930 AM CDT.

* At 437 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain
  have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
           highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
           drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Elsberry, Hardin, Fieldon, Batchtown, Hamburg, Paynesville, Annada
  and Nutwood.

Mississippi River State Fish and Wildlife Area and Pere Marquette
State Park.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Sugar Creek, Otter Creek, Cole Creek, Page Branch, Camp Creek,
  Macoupin Creek, Michael Creek, Knox Branch, Old Kings Lake Creek,
  South Fork Otter Creek, Sandy Chute, Shelton Creek, Dry Fork,
  Ramsey Creek, Mississippi River, South Fork Guinns Creek, Guinns
  Creek, Illinois River, Possum Creek, Prairie Creek, Little Ramsey
  Creek and Bryants Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
