At 1020 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area, but the heaviest rain has subsided. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. This includes a small portion of the Black River near Highway K, which will likely see a quick rise in the river. While it likely will not reach flood stage, those along the river bank and on the river itself should be aware that water levels may rise quickly as runoff moves through the area.
