...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH SATURDAY EVENING...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of southwest Illinois, including the following
area, Monroe IL and Missouri, including the following areas, Cole
MO, Franklin MO, Gasconade MO, Jefferson MO, Moniteau MO and Osage
MO.
* WHEN...Through Saturday evening.
* IMPACTS...Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street
flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast through the day
on Saturday. Any storm will be capable of producing heavy
rainfall. The biggest concern for additional flash flooding is in
areas that saw the most rain last night into early this morning.
Up to 6-12+" of rain fell in a northwest to southeast axis from
southern Crawford through northeast Reynolds, western and
southern Iron, and southwest Madison counties.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
