Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
346 AM EST Wed Feb 5 2025

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...30.6 inch ridging over western Lake Superior early
this morning moves into New England by this evening as it
weakens to 30.4 inches. Behind this ridge, a 29.6 inch trough
sweeps across Lake Superior Thursday, before a 30.3 inch high
moving into the central Mississippi Valley Friday brings 30.1
inch ridging back over the Upper Great Lakes. On Saturday, a 29.7
inch low passes toward the southern end of the Great Lakes
region, extending weak troughing over the lake. Ridging
reinvigorates to 30.3 inches by Sunday as a 30.5 inch high digs
into the Upper Midwest.
