186 FZUS63 KMQT 060900 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 400 AM EST Fri Mar 6 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... Lake Superior is currently between a 30.7 inch high over Quebec and a 29.5 inch low over eastern Colorado. As the high continues to shift east, the low will elongate across the Mississippi River Valley, then stretches over Lake Superior at 29.7 inches tonight. The low then deepens to 29.4 inches over the Ontario/Quebec line late Saturday morning. As the low further deepens to 29.2 inches over Quebec Saturday evening, a 30.1 inch high over the central to southern Plains will project a weak 29.8 inch ridge over the lake. This ridge is kicked east by a 29.1 inch low that transits northern Ontario Sunday, reaching northwest Quebec overnight into Monday as a secondary 29.0 inch low pressure trails behind near the northern shores of Lake Superior. The low slowly exits the area Monday before being replaced by a 30.3 inch high over northern Ontario Tuesday. The high slowly moves into Quebec Wednesday as low pressure moves into the Lower Midwest.
