926 FZUS63 KMQT 291501 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1000 AM EST Thu Jan 29 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... Remnant 30.2 inch troughing over eastern Lake Superior this morning continues to weaken today as 30.5 inch high pressure over Manitoba and the Dakotas strengthens to 30.9 inches by Friday morning. This will send 30.6 inch ridging over the lake by Friday evening. High pressure shifts southeast into the Lower Mississippi Valley through the weekend while weakening to 30.5 inches as a 29.9 inch low moves into northern Minnesota. The low moves over Lake Superior Sunday night through Monday morning at near 30.0 inches before being replaced by a 30.5 inch high Tuesday morning.
