572 FZUS63 KMQT 212056 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 356 PM EST Thu Nov 21 2024 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...A 29.6 inch low pressure over southern Lake Michigan is in the process of phasing with a 29.3 inch low off the coast of the US Northeast while a 30.3 inch high pressure is over the Dakotas. By Friday morning, the lows will have merged into a 29.2 inch low over Long Island while the 30.3 inch high pressure expands over much of the Northern Plains. The low pressure will slowly shift to Nova Scotia by Saturday morning maintaining 29.2 inches while high pressure to the west weakens to 30.1 inches. Throughout Sunday, a 29.6 inch Colorado Low forms, weakening to 29.8 inches as it arrives over the Upper Great Lakes by Monday morning. By Tuesday morning, the low will be south of James Bay at 29.7 inches while a 30.4 inch high pressure spreads over the Northern Plains.
