976 FZUS63 KMQT 160801 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 400 AM EDT Thu Jul 16 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... 30.1 inch ridging persists over Lake Superior into Friday while gradually shifting east towards the St. Lawrence Seaway. Low pressure passing through the Northern Plains looks to traverse the the lake at around 29.7 inches Friday evening into Saturday morning. Following the low, weak 29.9 to 30.0 inch ridging returns to Lake Superior late Saturday and remains through Sunday. Afterwards, a 29.5 inch low pressure diving southeast over northern Ontario is looking to bring 29.6 inch troughing over Lake Superior on Monday.
