Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior
National Weather Service Marquette MI
1001 PM EST Tue Jan 27 2026

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

A weak low grazes the northeast portion of the lake at 30.0 inches
tonight into Wednesday as high pressure builds to the south and
west. Remnant troughing gradually weakens over the lake Thursday
before strong high pressure around 31.0 inches descending from the
Canadian Prairies brings ridging of around 30.6 inches back over
Lake Superior by Friday. Ridging remains over the lake this weekend,
weakening on Sunday to 30.2 inches as the high pressure moves south
over the Plains.
