Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS... High pressure of 30.3 inches over the Upper Midwest
continues across the Great Lakes Basin tonight. As the high moves
to New England and Quebec on Saturday, 29.2 inch low pressure
over southeast Saskatchewan will track across Lake Winnipeg. The
low will then track into northern Ontario during Saturday night
with an associated 29.6 inch trough surging across Lake Superior.
As the low weakens to 29.4 inches while moving to southern Hudson
Bay on Sunday, 30.2 inch high pressure will build over the Plains.
This high will evolve into a north- south oriented 30.2 inch high
pressure ridge that will drift to the Middle and Upper
Mississippi Valley during Monday night and overhead the Great
Lakes by Wednesday.
