297 FZUS63 KMQT 020300 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1000 PM EST Sun Feb 1 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A 29.9 inch trough will cross Lake Superior tonight. The trough moves over the Ontario/Quebec line Monday night as a 30.4 inch high moves south from Lake Winnipeg. This high settles south over the Upper Mississippi River Valley and Plains through Wednesday ahead of a 29.4 inch low moving into Hudson Bay by Thursday morning. This low pulls a 29.6 inch trough through Lake Superior Thursday night followed by ridging of at least 30.3 inches by Friday night.
