431 FZUS63 KMQT 022100 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 400 PM EST Mon Mar 2 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... A 30.6 high currently centered over Lake Ontario continues to shift east today as a 29.7 inch low over northern Manitoba moves east over Hudson Bay, deepening to 29.6 inches. The low drags a weak trough of 30.2 inches over Lake Superior tonight before weak ridging builds over the lake on Tuesday as another, more compact high of 30.4 inches moves to James Bay. Another large area of high pressure will move into central and eastern Canada by Thursday morning. The strong high will help keep a 29.7 inch low moving up from the Southern Plains to our south as it weakens to 29.9 inches by the time it reaches the Lower Great Lakes Wednesday night, dissipating thereafter.
