Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior

For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior.

Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the
highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the
average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum.

.SYNOPSIS...

Weak troughing of around 29.8 inches remains over the lake until
Friday morning associated with a pair of 29.4 inch lows (one over
Labrador and one over Hudson Bay). The Hudson low drops a 29.6 inch
trough over western Lake Superior Friday evening, passing over the
rest of the lake overnight into Saturday morning. By Saturday
evening, Lake Superior will be situated between a 29.5 inch low over
western Quebec and a 30.2 inch high over Saskatchewan. By Sunday
afternoon, the low will shift into central Quebec while the high
moves over Lake Winnipeg. For Monday afternoon, the high builds to
30.3 inches and resides over Lake Superior. Meanwhile, Monday
evening, a 29.7 inch low develops over the Northern Plains. This low
passes through or near the Upper Great Lakes by Tuesday afternoon as
the 30.1 inch high shifts east.
