408 FZUS63 KMQT 221401 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1000 AM EDT Wed Apr 22 2026 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS... 30.0 inch high pressure remains over Lake Superior today. Meanwhile, a 29.4 inch low over Montana deepens to 29.1 inches by this evening before moving into southern Manitoba by Thursday evening. This sends 29.6 in troughing over Lake Superior Thursday night into Friday. As the parent low weakens to 29.9 inches Saturday and remnant troughing moves south of the Lower Great Lakes at 29.7 inches, 30.0 inch ridging will build over Lake Superior. By late Sunday, this ridge builds to 30.1 inches. Meanwhile, a 29.3 inch Colorado Low develops, moving towards the Upper Midwest by early Monday, causing pressure over Lake Superior to begin to fall rapidly toward 29.5 by mid- Monday.
