944 FZUS63 KMQT 070201 GLFLS Open Lake Forecast for Lake Superior National Weather Service Marquette MI 1001 PM EDT Tue May 6 2025 For waters beyond 5 nautical miles of shore on Lake Superior. Waves are the significant wave height - the average of the highest 1/3 of the wave spectrum. Occasional wave height is the average of the highest 1/10 of the wave spectrum. .SYNOPSIS...Ridging builds in tonight thanks to a 30.5 inch high traversing Ontario through Thursday night. Ridging over Lake Superior will build to 30.4 inches late Wednesday, then slowly weaken into Friday as a 30.1 inch trough approaches from the west. This trough will pass over Lake Superior Friday night, quickly replaced by high pressure ridging at 30.3 inches for Saturday and Saturday night as a 30.4 inch high tracks east over Ontario. Ridging weakens to 30.0 inches on Sunday as troughing develops to the northwest.
