DISCUSSION:

Rain will start early Sunday morning and last into Sunday the
evening. Rain is expected to be focused over Los Angeles County,
mostly likely the central and eastern portions. Rain totals are
favored to be 0.25 inches or less for most areas in LA county,
except higher amounts in the foothills of the San Gabriel Valley
(0.5 inches likely) and the eastern San Gabriel Mountains (locally
to around 1.0 inch). Rain totals will generally be 0.10 inch or less
for Ventura County northward. Rain rates will be light to moderate,
topping out around 0.20 in/hr for most locations. Local heavier
showers and thunderstorms with rain rates briefly 0.20-0.50 in/hr
will be possible, especially for the eastern San Gabriel Mountains.
There is overall only around 5 percent chance of rain rates high
enough to cause minor/urban flooding in LA County.

There is at least a slight chance of additional showers or mainly
interior thunderstorms at times next week, although details remain
fuzzy.
